A Journey Into Practice. A Pathway to Teaching.

The goal of the 200-hour training is for it to be more than a course—it’s a transformative journey into the heart of your own yoga practice.

This hybrid program combines the best of both worlds: 50 hours of self-paced, online study to support your personal rhythm and reflection, followed by two immersive weeks of in-person training in the jungle—where the learning becomes embodied, experiential, and shared in real time with a small, supportive group.

Designed for those seeking depth, clarity, and confidence, this course offers a rare opportunity to train in an intimate setting, where you’ll receive personalized attention, mentorship, and community.

At the core of this training is practice. Daily asana, pranayama, and meditation form the foundation, while engaging discussions, explorations of yogic philosophy, and dynamic teaching labs bring ancient wisdom to life.

You won’t graduate with a script—you’ll graduate with your voice. Rooted in experience, ready to share the practice with others in a way that feels authentic, safe, and inspired.

This is not just a teacher training. It’s a month of devotion, discovery, and deep connection—to your body, your breath, your potential, and your purpose.

The 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed to broaden, deepen, and refine your skills as a teacher, building upon the solid foundation of a 200-hour program. Whereas a 200-hour training prepares you to design and deliver a safe, balanced 90-minute class, this advanced training invites you to step into the role of a creative teacher, with the ability to facilitate workshops, retreats, and themed experiences that you’re most passionate about while bringing greater richness, confidence, and versatility to your teaching.

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

  • Develop and deliver themed workshops across a variety of subjects.
  • Create and guide asana master classes with clarity and depth.
  • Gain the tools to design and lead retreats, from structure to student experience.
  • Enrich everyday teaching with diversity, accessibility, and creativity.
  • This course is fully Yoga Alliance registered and meets the standards for a 300-hour program.

Curriculum Highlights:

  • Philosophy: We will explore key texts and traditions that continue to shape yoga practice today, including: The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Bhagavad Gita, The mythology of Hanuman, Ganesha, and the Goddess traditions
  • Asana & Teaching Methodology
  • Asana will be studied through the lens of the Iyengar system, emphasizing precision, alignment, and accessibility. Postures will be explored in depth—individually and in sequence—giving teachers a multi-dimensional understanding of each asana.
  • Special focus will be placed on the intelligent use of props, ensuring that postures can be adapted to meet the needs of every body.

Through this process, you will learn not only how to refine your own practice, but how to confidently guide others with sensitivity, adaptability, and integrity

200 HOUR YTT: JULY 25 - AUGUST 9

Chel has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2013, and teaching group fitness and dance since 2009. She’s also a Reiki Master offering energy healing sessions infusing yoga nidra and chakra balancing (Ayurveda).

A former marketing executive, she felt unfulfilled by her fast-paced lifestyle and decided to embrace minimalism and study mindfulness and meditation. This time of self discovery led her to yoga teacher training with South Okanagan Yoga Academy, studying under Mugs McConnell. She also studies the Kriya Yoga of Pranahamsa Yogananda. She completed her 500-hour training with specialization in Ayurveda at Alpha Omega Yoga. She completed Gong Master Sound Healing training in 2015.

She has adventured around the world solo to practice meditation and volunteer in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar. With this unique perspective, she’s passionate about helping others who feel “stuck” in life to overcome stress and difficult situations to seek happiness and joy.

Her favorite yoga styles to teach are Hatha, Vinyasa, Gentle/Beginner and Power Yoga and meditation. She has been teaching and living in Sayulita since 2017 and often visits back to her home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She’s a hula hoop/fire performer and loves surfing.

Is this training right for you?

If one or more of the following applies to you:

  • You love yoga and are feeling called to deepen your yoga practice and explore its spiritual path!
  • You want to feel welcome in a program that doesn’t expect “perfect poses.” Whether you can do advanced asanas or are still working on fundamentals, you’re here to grow.
  • You wish to immerse yourself into a yogic lifestyle, integrating holistic practices into your daily routine and open to exploring a vegetarian diet for the two-week immersion.
  • You are ready for the challenge of 12-hours daily of learning yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, breathwork, meditation and healing modalities.
  • You aspire to become a certified yoga teacher with a reputable school. EVOKA is an RYS 200, meaning it is approved by and registered with Yoga Alliance— the body that regulates all yoga schools internationally. Obtaining your yoga teacher certification under a Yoga Alliance-approved school qualifies you for facilitator positions in yoga studios and wellness facilities all over the world.
  • You would like to expand beyond traditional yoga classes to offer sound healing, breath work, meditation, yoga nidra and other nervous-system regulation practices
  • You’re interested in personal attention and mentorship —and not getting lost in a big sea of students from a commercialized yoga program.
  • You love beautiful tropical beaches and being surrounded by nature.

This training might not be for you if:
✘ You’re only looking for a workout and aren’t interested in yoga philosophy, self-inquiry, or spiritual growth.
✘ You’re not open to being part of a diverse group of individuals of all levels of ability and backgrounds.
✘ You’re unable to commit fully to both the in-person and online portions of the training.

YOGA TRAINING STUDENT PRE-REQUISITES

  • Yoga Experience: Some prior practice is recommended. Ideally, attend 3–5 classes per week before the training to build a steady foundation. You don’t need to perform advanced poses—there will be options to learn, practice, and even teach them safely without doing them yourself.

  • Health: Trainings involve 2–4 hours of daily movement. Classes will include both strong and gentle styles, with modifications available. Students may also observe and take notes when needed. Please inform us of any injuries or special needs.

  • Commitment: Be ready for full days (12–13 hours) of classes, study, and assignments. This program requires focus, time, and dedication.

  • Lifestyle: We encourage a clean, substance-free lifestyle during training. Ideally, abstain from alcohol/substances 10–30 days beforehand and follow a vegetarian or Ayurvedic diet.

  • Age Requirements: 18 years or older.
  • Openness: Come with an open mind and an open heart! This training is a space for learning, self-discovery, and personal growth. While we honor and support your emotional and spiritual journey, it is not intended as a space for processing unresolved trauma.
